Connecticut postal worker sentenced to probation for stealing money orders

A former U.S. Postal Service employee who stole almost $40,000 in postal money orders has been sentenced to 5 years of probation, according to John Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. 

Keith Sanford, 33, of Litchfield, Connecticut, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vanessa Bryant on September 9, 2020. He was also ordered to pay full restitution.

Brooklyn man admits to stealing mail in Upstate New York

A man who used a postal key to steal mail from collection boxes has pled guilty to possession with the intent to unlawfully use a U.S. Postal Service key, and theft of mail, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. 

Kevin Ronny Williams, 23, of Brooklyn, New York, stole mail from 3 collection boxes in Liverpool, New York, on the night of March 5, 2020.

He pled guilty in federal court in Syracuse, New York, on September 16, 2020.
